Apple Scab

Apple Scab

Hosts: Apple, Crab Apple, Hawthorn, Pear, Mountain Ash & Loquat.

Symptoms: Apple scab decreases the aesthetic value of the host. It causes severe damage in apples by reducing the quality of the fruit, in all hosts by weakening the tree through defoliation.

Control: Removal of all fallen debris which may contain overwintering spores will not completely eliminate scab but can reduce severity of infection. Fungicide sprays applied in early spring from bud break to mature foliage.
